John – My sheets are white. Mom – Oh, don’t put those in with the colored sheets. We separate the whites from the colored sheets and pillow cases.

Mom (Wife) – Where are you? John (Husband) – I’m about to take a shower and there are no towels. Mom (Wife)– The towels are all dirty? Let me do a load of towels. John (Husband) – That will take a long time. Mom (Wife)– Throw down the towels and I’ll do them now. Do your homework (Watch the news) until the towels are dry.

Mom – Have a pile for your whites, a pile for colors, a pile for jeans, a pile for delicates. You can do that in the laundry room. Lisa – I want a new hamper that helps me separate the clothes.

Stain remover Husband: Honey, I am going to need this shirt washed and ironed for tomorrow. Wife: OK, I’ll do a load of whites after dinner. Husband: Thanks, the collar really needs that ring around the collar bleached or something. Wife: I will put some Shout on it. Like the commercial says, shout it out. Husband: Thanks, honey. You take such good care of me.
11
Loading the laundry Mom- Someone did a good job sorting this laundry.
Lisa: That would be me. Mom – Let’s get the first load going. How do you want the settings? Lisa: Let’s see. Whites need hot water, one measuring spoon of detergent, and bleach. Mom: Don’t forget to treat those stains first. Lisa: Almost forgot. Where is that stain remover? Mom – On the counter. Spray it directly onto the stain and rub. I always pour the detergent right on it and then place that garment into the washer. Every little bit helps. Dad – Thanks, girls.

Oh, no! Husband: How did my white shirt get pink? Mom: Oh no!
Husband: Something red must have been in the washer. Wife: Yes, here it is, a new hand towel. I will wash and bleach that shirt again immediately. So sorry. Don’t worry. I will add softener. That might help get that color out. Husband: I know you’ll fix it.
13
Drying Clothes Wife – Your white shirt is white again!
Husband – Thanks, sugar (darlin’, sweetie pie). That’s my girl. Wife: I’ll place it in the dryer now with a dryer sheet. One thing for sure, the ring around the collar is gone. I’ll set the buzzer so I can take it out of the dryer immediately. It won’t wrinkle that way. Husband – You are going to starch and iron it for me, aren’t you? Wife – If that’s what you want, that’s what I’ll do. Tomorrow must be an important day. Husband – Yes, it is. I want to wear my lucky shirt.

Hanging Clothes Outside
Wife: It’s such a beautiful day, I think I’ll hang the clothes outside to dry. Husband: Do we have a clothes line? Wife: Yes, but I’ll have to have help hanging it. Do you mind? Husband: Mind? Let’s put that clothes line up. Wife: The clothes just smell so much cleaner after hanging in the fresh air.
15
That shirt needs ironing
Husband: Honey, my shirt needs ironing. Wife: I need to set up the ironing board and plug in the iron. Husband: Can you starch it? Wife: Sure. I have a can of spray starch. Husband: Thanks. That shirt looks like a professional did it. It is as stiff as a board. Wife: Here, let me hang it on a hanger for you. It will be perfect for tomorrow. Husband: It looks and smells good.
