Bruno- nine years-old, Lives in Berlin, Germany and then Poland
Bruno’s Father- high ranking official in Hitler’s Nazi party. He is in charge of a concentration camp in Poland.
Schmuel- a Jewish boy in the concentration camp. Bruno and Schmuel talk frequently through the fence.

4. Main Problem Bruno has to move from his house in Berlin.
His father has received a promotion in the Nazi military and the family moves to Poland.
Bruno is not allowed to go exploring, something that he wants to do.
Bruno does go exploring and meets a boy on the other side of the fence. He eventually slips under the fence into the camp.
