SD23 5 Attributes of a Student
**This is a key piece of your MAP, so please put effort into this assignment, or else….
2
Acquire: Reflect on your LIFE!
As you reflect back on your life and schooling career so far, undoubtedly many accomplishments may come to mind. Some of them may be easy to identify, like winning a tournament or reward, while others may be small victories such as passing a difficult test or resolving a conflict with a peer.
3
SD23 has identified 5 key skills that they want every student to graduate with - the 5 attributes are thinker, innovator, collaborator, contributor and learner. These components make up what a 21st century graduate should embody.
4
Apply: Text STEP 1: Examine your 5 Attributes
Using the template provided, you are going to examine each of the key skills from SD23's Attributes of a Student - thinker, innovator, collaborator, contributor and learner. You will write 1 well developed paragraph for each attribute explaining how you possess/demonstrate these attributes. Use specific examples and give supporting information using the 5 Ws.
5
Apply: Visuals STEP 2: Create media/presentation to support each of the 5 Attributes on your Weebly. You need 1 piece of media for each attribute. The following are suggestions, as always, be creative and original and try something new! Make sure you use 5 different pieces of media. This course is based on technology- demonstrate your knowledge of web tools. No Google images will be accepted.
6
Apply: Visuals Wordle/Tagxedo - create a word cloud to represent one of your attributes. Personal Images - you should be either in the image or take the image. Embed a video sample that illustrates your attribute (once again, you should be in the video or have created it). Embed a song that represents one of the attributes - you then need to FULLY describe why this song supports your attribute (and of course...school appropriate).
7
Apply: Visuals Story Bird

ADC Assessment (5 marks)- VISUALS
The visuals can clearly be connected to each attribute. The visuals that are created are properly embedded on the page. Visuals show an excellent grasp of each attribute and how it applies to the student. Strong visual appeal that draws the reader in. The student used the majority of the features that the web tool has to offer (ex- images, icons, color, backgrounds, etc...)
9
Planning Assessment (5 marks)- Paragraphs
Cohesive paragraphs that are well written and include specific examples that relate to each attribute. Required content and additional information is provided in a meaningful way and go beyond the obvious. Information presented shows an excellent grasp of the attributes and how the individual is a 21st century student. Paragraphs are free of spelling and punctuation errors.
10
(Presenting your 5 attributes on your Weebly):
Now that you have examined your attributes and created media, you will need to present them in a professional and engaging manner on your Weebly. You can… 1.) Make an Attribute page and have your write ups and visuals on it. (1 page) 2.) Make a main Attribute page and each attribute has its own sub page under it. (multiple pages) Remember, this assignment is part of your MAP presentation for next year, so make sure you are proud of your work!
