7. We follow a basic schedule
The year is divided into 8 units – about 4 weeks each
Hand out Unit Cover Page and I-Can checklist on first day – tape into composition notebook
Daily warm-up should be written on new page in composition notebook / graded on completion
Write something in notebook EVERY day

8. We follow a basic schedule
Unit notebook due and scored on last day of unit
Pick ONE homework project and present to class near end of unit
Online Moodle test done at home by end of unit. Three tries to get best score – open note/open Internet

9. How points are earned

10. Late work is acceptable, but not advisable
Late work is acceptable, but not advisable. Unless prior arrangements have been made, the maximum score you can receive on the assignment is 80%. . Online tests can be taken up to three times BEFORE the deadline. . Late homework may be presented after school. You will lose preparation points unless prior arrangements have been made.

11. How can you make-up points / earn extra?
Go to Moodle, find the assignment you missed, do it. (Various points)
Complete extra homework options. (Various points)
Read a book. Complete a book report identifying the science. (30 points)
Complete a “Science is Everywhere” vacation report. (20 points)
Complete a “Science of Sickness” report if you were ill. (20 points)

12. Bring your supplies to work EVERY day
These MUST be in class every day for your personal use:
Several pencils and 1 red colored pen
Composition Notebook
Calculator
Clear Tape
These supplies will be shared with others and are worth EXTRA “brownie points” for each item:
Roll of paper towels
Box of tissues
Box of colored pencils
Dry Erase Markers (Expo)
