The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization whose purpose is to serve the local community by promoting informed active citizen participation in government and by acting on selected governmental issues. The League does not support any candidate or Political Party.

12. IMMIGRATION POSITION
Promote reunification of immediate families; meet the economic, business and employment needs of the United States; be responsive to those facing political persecution or humanitarian crises; and provide for student visas. Ensure fair treatment under the law for all persons. In transition to a reformed system, support provisions for unauthorized immigrants already in the country to earn legal status.

Support apportionment and redistricting based substantially on population of all voting districts, with additional consideration given to compact and contiguous territory and with respect given to municipal boundaries.

Some of our members are particularly concerned about the environment and the county’s open space policy. Others are concerned about the pipelines that run through Chester County. There is no end of issues that could be of concern to us.
