1 Integers: The set of counting numbers, their opposites and zero
Integer Flip Book Integers: The set of counting numbers, their opposites and zero

2 The sum of 2 positive integers is positive. 2 + 3 = 5
2. The sum of 2 negative integers is negative. ( -2) + (-3) = (-5) To add integers with different signs, subtract their absolute values. The sum is positive if the positive integers has the greater absolute. The sum is negative if the negative integer has the greater absolute value. (-2) + 5 = 3 1 + (-6) = (-5) ADDING INTEGERS

3 To subtract an integer, add its opposite.
6 – (-3) = 9 because you think 6 + 3 SUBTRACTING INTEGERS

4 The product of 2 integers with the same sign is positive.
When you multiply 2 integers, look to see if they have the same or different signs. The product of 2 integers with the same sign is positive. The product of 2 integers with different signs is negative. 2 x 4 = 8 (-2) x (-4) = 8 (-2) x 4 = (-8) MULTIPLYING INTEGERS

5 The rules for dividing integers are the same as those for multiplying
The rules for dividing integers are the same as those for multiplying. The quotient of 2 integers with the same sign is positive. The quotient of 2 integers with different signs is negative. 8 ÷ 4 = 2; (-8) ÷ (-4) = 2 (-8) ÷4 = (-2) DIVIDING INTEGERS
