2. The Task
You will have a list scientific questions to help you get an idea for your experiment. You must choose from the questions on the list or a question approved by Mrs. Patrick or Mrs. Kline.
Your team will work to design a valid experiment that clearly includes an independent variable, dependent variable, experimental group, control group, and appropriate constants.
You will create a multimedia presentation (Video or PowerPoint) of your experiment and results and present it to the class. Your presentation should be presented similar to Mythbusters, Bill Nye The Science Guy, or another scientific program.

4. Myth Buster Options
Determine which brand of toothpaste is most protective against tooth decay.
Determine which of several substances is most destructive to teeth.
Determine which toothpaste will work the best to get stains off teeth.
Determine if salt water boils faster than regular water.
Determine if acid rain kills plants.
Determine whether coke is more acidic than sprite.
Determine if lemon juice will preserve the color of fruit.
Determine if the color black absorbs more heat.

5. Project Manager Learns about writing a hypothesis.
Leads team in writing a testable question and a measurable hypothesis that shows a comparison.
Organizes team and helps team stay on task and on target for the due date.

6. Experimental Design Expert
Researches and reads about various experiments.
Teaches teammates about key elements of a scientific experiment: independent variable, dependent variable, control group and experimental group, and constants.
Leads team to designing a fair and valid experiment.

7. Technical Presentation Designer
Records information for and designs presentation.
Organizes and prepares for presentation.

8. Data Analyst
Designs data tables for recording data about the experiment.
Makes tables and graphs for presentation.
Leads team in forming a conclusion based on the data collected.

9. Research Specialist Leads the group in getting research information.
Types up paragraph of research.
Makes sure some research is included in the video.

10. Camera Man or Woman Takes pictures and video during project.
Checks with Mrs. Patrick or Mrs. Kline for Photo Downloads.
