The NSU Alvin Sherman Library- Some Background
Unique “joint-use” facility, both an academic AND a public library Two primary webpages, one for the public and one for the academic community. We have two websites the academic site in particular is complicated to use. We give training to students and faculty about how to find our resources. We reach out to all education students through curriculum based library presentations. An education student would be taught the many ways to find education databases like clicking on the databases by subject link. Academic library website Public library website

Promoting Education Resources-Handouts
Handouts given out at Advanced Placement Summer Institute, BCPS/BTU Annual New Teacher Orientation, BTU Stewardship Event, Broward County Council of Teachers of Mathematics Annual Mathematics Extravaganza, and Alvin Sherman Library’s Public Library Services Department. We requested bookmarks from the marking department to be made about the teacher resources website, specifically created for one event. We realized that we had many more public events and teacher events with the Fischler College where we could promote this resource.
