8. Asian-European link via IS-4
Promotion of IS-4 Asian-European link
Until 2009/3, NICT pays the link fee.
- Any users are welcomed to join the link free of charge.
- Available time is divided into SATRE-modem link
and NICT-modem link.
From 2009/4, NICT wants to share the fee
with participants in the link.
- Integration into SATRE-modem link
New participants are much welcomed.

9. Problem of Asian-European link
“Intelsat, Tokyo Office provides an important information”
Indian Co. plans to use all transponders of IS-4.
In this case, we will lose the opportunity to use the link after April 2009.

12. Summary Most links under regular observations perform stably.
The stations in Asia will link directly to Europe. Link fees are to be shared.
The Hawaiian station link will be built in 2009.
We may need to change a satellite in near future.
