Education requirements to become an audiologist
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree Replaced the Master’s as the clinical entry-level degree Clinical doctorate NOT a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Focus is on clinical proficiency Graduates are called “Doctor” Licensure upon graduation from an Au.D. program Ph.D. Master’s Bachelor's Au.D.

Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.)
Typically, four-year degree Coursework: anatomy and physiology, psychoacoustics, signals and acoustics, amplification, vestibular assessment and evaluation, aural rehabilitation, professional issues, pediatric and educational audiology Clinical practica and completion of a full-time externship during final year of program Research project Comprehensive exams Average cost of tuition: $100,000 (audiology.org)

Highly selective and competitive 273 Master’s in SLP programs (average class size: 25) 75 Au.D. programs (average class size: 10) Minimum GPA of 3.0 (but average GPA is much higher) GRE scores Essay Resume Letters of recommendation Application fees Interviews
