PCP can be ingested orally, snorted, smoked, or injected. Smoking is the most common method of PCP use. PCP can be pressed into pills or put in capsules and swallowed; when ingested orally, effects are felt in 30 to 60 minutes and last 6 to 24 hours. Leafy material such as mint, oregano, tobacco, or marijuana is saturated with PCP, and subsequently rolled into a cigarette and smoked. PCP is typically used in small quantities; 5 to 10 mg is an average dose.
