Sam moved the window cover up revealing the wing of the plane cutting through the marshmallow clouds with lightning speed. He flew for his job often, so the routine felt like clockwork until he heard a few creaks and bangs from underneath his seat. The pilot’s nervously calm voice came over the intercom indicating that we would be making an emergency landing in Montreal. Sam could see the plane was suffering as it was sputtering every few seconds. The passengers, like frightened children, began to panic while they the descended. Shakespearean Insult Contest!
The columns on your represent language used by Shakespeare. Choose one phrase from each of the three columns below and craft your own version of Elizabethan-era insults. Try to have at least three or four so you don’t have to reuse any if you get far in the competition. In a few minutes, you’ll need to have your insults ready to enter in our Shakespearean Slam Contest.

Shakespearean Insult Contest!
I will be the judge. Remember, I am not just judging the quality of your insults – I am also judging your performance. Whoever insults their competitor in the most convincing manner will win! We’ll do this by rounds – each time, half of the class will be out of the running, leaving the other half of the class to insult each other. We’ll keep going until there is only one winner. The winner will get three bonus points and the opportunity to insult the most people. Hooray!
