Reminders… 1. Make sure you write your first and last name on all work
2. Check the gradebook and my website for missing work regularly 3. Come see me at the end of class if you need to talk to me about your grade or anything else 4. If you have to leave early for athletics, check the website for homework assignments and work you missed 5. If you were absent when an assignment was due, write ABSENT on your assignment so I wont lower your grade

What is Wellness? Physical wellness Emotional wellness
Spiritual wellness Social wellness Financial wellness Environmental wellness Career/School wellness Intellectual wellness Wellness is the state of being well (healthy) in each of the eight categories below:

2. Emotional Wellness The ability to be aware of and accept our feelings, rather than deny them.

3. Spiritual Wellness Values and beliefs that provide a purpose in our lives.

On a separate sheet of paper, respond to the following questions: How much sleep do you get each night? What is the optimal amount of sleep that a teenager needs? What is the concern about teens with regards to their sleep patterns? Describe three things that lack of sleep affects in teens. What does your brain do while sleeping after learning a new skill? How is getting enough sleep related to Wellness? Which category(ies) of wellness does sleep fit into?
