1 Year 5 Residential: Gilwell Park 25th June- 26th June 2017

3 Planning Liz Brandon and Tom Couldridge will meet with Clive Atkins, outdoor education advisor for Waltham Forest. Liz Brandon and Tom Couldridge to complete a risk assessment of Gilwell Park (full assessment of accommodation ) Risk assessment to encompass back up plans.

Develop social skills Develop independence Practice skills of cooking Have fun while learning

5 Itinerary Monday 25th June 2017
Leave school (children come into school as normal) Arrive at Gilwell Park late morning Orientation of the park and accommodation Lunch (packed lunch) Team challenge Dinner (home cooked meal) Story time Dinner to be cooked by the pupils eg. Pasta, with a meaty tomato sauce, cheese and a mixed salad. NB. Meaty sauce is vegetarian

6 Itinerary Tuesday 26th June 2017 Breakfast Make packed lunch
Activities Team challenge Leave Chingford station early afternoon Arrive at school Breakfast: children make their own breakfast and packed lunch. Team challenge: map reading and orienteering . Activities: to be confirmed once numbers of pupils are received.( Pupil ability to be considered) 3G Swing,Aerial Trek,Crate Stacking,Free Fall,The Gauntlet,High All Aboard,Jacobs Ladder,Ladder Climb,Leap of Faith,Swimming Pool,Wobbly Pole,Zip Wire,Climbing,Kayaking,Medium Ropes

7 Activities Sensory trail Zip Wire Fire lighting Archery

8 Accommodation

9 Accommodation Private Lodge: Separate group leader/teacher room. Large main hall. Available equipment includes internet, TV and sound system. We aim to have a female and Male Lodge. If this is not possible then there will be a female and a male wing with separate bathrooms.

10 Details 25th June- 26th June 2017
Cost approx. £50: full payment to be made on parent pay by March 2017 Parent meeting in April with more information

11 What to do now? Complete the permission slip, return by Monday 2nd November 2016 Use Parent Pay to make a non-refundable £20 deposit to secure your child’s place. Pay £5 a month Payment to be completed by March 2017.
