2 PARAGRAPH CONSTRUCTION
1st sentence/Topic Sentence: Mentions the play title, names my character—addresses my adjective. Ex. If you have John, your question is: How does Elizabeth feel about John? **Your adjective has to be strong and you have to stick to it. Example: If Hale is frustrating, why is he frustrating. 2nd sentence: Sets up the quote I want to use. You need to be able to paraphrase what is going on between the two characters when the quote is said—Context. 3rd sentence is my quote “Then let you not earn it “ (Miller 53). 4th sentence: Analyzes the language of the quote. When John says to Elizabeth that she has a funeral marching around her heart—what does he mean by that? Use the language of the quote to analyze what the character is saying and what it reveals about their relationship.

3 PARAGRAPH CONSTRUCTION
Sentence 5: This might be a sentence where you are still exploring the analysis of the quote. Sentence 6: Make the transition happen. Another way we see the character. ____ also feels ____ toward ____ because Sentence 7: Lead into the next quote. Set-up what is happening right before the quote. Paraphrase what is going on before the quote is said. Why is their relationship this way? Sentence 8: Insert the next quote (Miller 89). Sentence 9/10: Analyze the quote. Remember what does mean about the character and how they are viewed by this other person. Is it fair?
