How well does the teacher know you? What kind of student were you in their class? Could they speak to your resiliency, work ethic, respect, etc? What major/academic program do you want to pursue? Do your colleges ask for recommendations from a specific content area? wHO sHOULD wRITE yOUR lETTERS??? Some things to consider when choosing two teachers...

Under Applying to colleges Section, Click “Letter of recommendation” 3. Click “add REquest” 4. Use the Drop Down Menu to Select the Teacher(s) and Select Which Colleges You Need Letters Sent To 5. Click “Submit Request” NOTE: ARL teachers WILL NOT be on the list but they can submit letters of recommendation

22 APPLICATION TYPES EARLY DECISION: Early deadline, early response, BINDING EARLY ACTION: Early deadline, early response, NON-BINDING PRIORITY DEADLINE: Students apply to any earlier deadline and receive priority over students who don’t meet that deadline REGULAR ADMISSION: Apply by regular deadline and hear a response by April 1st ROLLING ADMISSION: Students receive decision as applications are received RESTRICTIVE EARLY ACTION: Same as Early Action but limits your ability to apply Early Action or Decision to other schools
