President Tom Ross, Chairman Primary Scope of Work to what extent the state should embrace higher education degree attainment goals, along with strategies accompanied by objectives, timelines, and metrics. consider recommendations related to higher academic standards and competencies required for a globally competitive workforce. high-level analysis of the University’s budget, including relevant metrics and historical trends.

4 Strategic Directions Committee
Dr. Fred Eshelman, Chairman Primary Scope of Work to gather and synthesize data, draft documents, and support the work of the Advisory Committee and guide and direct the larger strategic planning process.

5 Public Meetings Both committees are public bodies. All meetings of the committees are noticed and open to the public, in accordance with the state’s Open Meetings Law. All documents generated in the course of the committees’ work are public, consistent with the state’s Public Records Act.

6 Student Input is Important
How can the University improve the quality of your education? To what extent do other non-school obligations compete for your time? (Work, caring for family, etc.) Do you think that you are prepared for the workforce? What skills or competencies should be incorporated into your education to make you more competitive in the workforce?

7 Timeline Need student input by Thanksgiving. Report delivered to the Board of Governors at their February Board meeting.
