Meet with KACCTE Rep
Identify committee
First meeting: review existing pathway, gap analysis, feedback from field, national standards if any
Consolidate feedback and share with committee
Second meeting (conference call or in person)
Finalize
Public comment period (1 month)
Present to KACCTE in April meeting
Present to KSBOE in July, August, or September
Changes go into effect 12 months after approval (e.g., 2019 – 2020 academic year)

Separate into subcommittee by pathway/level – 1/31/18
Revision determinations – 1/31/18

5. AV Communication and Visual Arts 2018-19
Visual Arts pathway has three strands:  
Graphic Design
Interior Design 
Fashion & Apparel Design
AV Communications pathway has one strand.

6. Visual Arts Pathway changes
Course changes title from “Trends in Interior & Textile Design” to “Fashion Trends” and drops to .5 credit.
Course changes title from “Essentials of Interior and Textile Deign” to “Essentials of Fashion, Apparel & Interior Design”.
Course changes title from “Interior & Textile Merchandising” to F.A.I.D. Merchandising & Entrepreneurship.
Apparel Production I (19201) and Apparel Production II (19203) are new courses in the Fashion Apparel & Design Strand.
Computer Applications (10004/60004), Principles of Illustration (30101), and Photo Imaging (30105) are now only available in the Graphic Design Strand.
Career & Life Planning (22207) & Intro. To Fam. & Consumer Sciences (54001) is no longer available in the Graphic Design Strand.
Residential Interior Design (22212) has moved from an Application Level course to a Technical Level course and is only available in the Interior Design Strand.
Interior Design I (19263) and Architectural Design (21103) are now added to the Interior Design Strand.
Course changes title from “Interior & Textile Design Studio” to “Fashion, Apparel & Interior Design Studio”.
Community Connections (22270) is no longer available in the pathway.
Comm. & Industrial Interior Design (38212) is no longer available in the pathway.
Drafting (21102) is added to the Intro Level of the Interior Design Strand and the Fashion & Apparel Design Strand
