May15th -– 19th Announcements *We will have our End of the Year Awards ceremony on Thursday, May 18th at 7P.M. to honor achievements from this year. Every child will receive an award. * Donations for the American Lung Association are due now. They sponsor our Field Day each year. Field Day is Friday. We will have Pajama Day on Wednesday. Make sure they are appropriate for school. You will need tennis shoes for P.E. We will have a kickball tournament on Thursday. It will take place on the Olive Branch High School football field. Wear your tennis shoes and a green (Britton) or blue (Wilson) shirt. Friday, May 19th is a half day. Lunch will not be served. We will have Field Day today. Wear your class shirt. ELA: We will finish our Poetry unit and publish our own book of poems. We will review 3rd grade literature skills so we are prepared for 4th grade. Math: We will continue to review all 3rd grade skills so that we are prepared for 4th grade Math. We are now practicing our 11’s and 12’s during our fact fluency practice time. We will not test those this year. I can statements: I can tell time to the last minute and calculate intervals of time. I can visualize from a passage. I can ask and answer questions about a passage. I can reread for information. I can recognize a pronoun. *Monday, May 22nd is a half day also. No lunch will be served. Math – No tests or Homework ELA Assessments: No ELA Assessments or Homework Be sure to encourage your child to read each night. They should be reading at least 20 minutes.

Refer to parts of stories, dramas, and poems when writing or speaking about a text, using terms such as chapter, scene, and stanza; describe how each successive part builds on earlier sections. Write routinely about various topics and for various amounts of time. Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
