Azure Storage vs. AWS Customer question Answer
We need enterprise-ready storage Solution that is strongly consistent. Azure Storage is enterprise-ready, strongly consistent, highly available, and scalable. AWS is not strongly consistent but only eventually consistent. We need a 1st party Solution for hybrid cloud storage. Azure Storage is integrated with 1st party hybrid Solution from StorSimple. AWS does not have a 1st party hybrid Solution. How can we be sure our data is safe in case of an unexpected event? Azure Storage is integrated with Azure Site Recovery, Backup, and DPM. AWS does not have a 1st party Disaster Recovery (DR) Solution. AWS is less expensive. Azure Premium Storage offers 30% higher IOPS than AWS for same price. EBS offers 30% less IOPS than Premium Storage for same price. We need robust durability. Azure Premium Storage has 3 replicas and is highly durable. EBS offers 2 replicas and lower durability. Do we have to change application code for our files? No, Azure Files supports SMB 3.0, which is widely used in Windows Server and also supported on Linux. EFS only supports NFS, which is mostly supported on Linux. Are storage services available in our region? Azure Files available in all Azure Regions. EFS is in preview and is available only in one region.
