1 Engineering Graphics Multiview Sketching
(1) Relate the three primary views to the pictorials the students have been generating. (2) Mention that the views have no perspective -- viewed from infinity (3) Parallel lines on object remain parallel in view

2 Orthographic Projection (Front View)
Engineering Graphics The front view is projected onto the frontal plane of projection. It is shown so that it is normal to the lines of sight.

3 Orthographic Projection (Top View)
Engineering Graphics The top view is projected onto the horizontal plane of projection and is shown normal to the lines of sight.

4 Orthographic Projection (Right Side View)
Engineering Graphics The right side view is projected onto the right profile plane of projection and is shown normal to the lines of sight.

5 Engineering Graphics Hidden & Center Lines
(1) Hidden lines are shown as a series of dashes and represent the outline of feature that are not visible from the given viewpoint. (2) Centerlines mark the center location of cylindrically shaped features in the round view and the axis of the cylinder in the profile views.

6 Sketching Linetypes (ASME Y14.2M-1992)
Engineering Graphics (1) The conventions used to sketch various linetypes is established by ASME. (2) For now we are interested in only the following three line types: (a) visible object lines (b) hidden lines (c) centerlines
