Use of an expert Specialist technical vocabulary Present tense complex sentences starting with subordinate clauses to explain cause and effect (processes) To spot complex sentences like these look for ones that start with connectives e.g. ‘By….’ ‘To….’ ‘While….’ ‘With….’
