Subjects & Reasons for Classification
In contrast to Division or Analysis (which deals with a single thing), Classification deals with a number of things Class is done for a purpose: low-priced mp3 players as opposed to high priced ones Subjects & Reasons for Classification

Just as you can analyze a subject in many ways, you can classify according to many principles
The principle you use depends on your purpose Ex: A linguist might classify languages according to their origins (Romance Languages, Germanic Languages, etc.) but a student trying to schedule classes might classify by hard to learn, harder to learn, too much work. Analysis

Kinds of Classification
The simplest classification is binary (2 part) Those with a certain distinguishing feature Those without it Ex. Smokers and nonsmokers Runners and non-runners Kinds of Classification
