8 Past, Present, Future In 2016, Food Bank agencies distributed 2,163,857 pounds of food. In 2017, 2,373,484 pounds were distributed. This was a nearly 10% increase in pounds! In 2016, agencies served 50,096 households and 201,575 individuals. In 2017, agencies served 54,296 households and 215,514 individuals. In 2016, agencies served 478,902 meals and 248,538 snacks. In 2017, agencies served 482,351 meals and 212,931 snacks.

9 Past, Present, Future In 2018, the Food Bank of Siouxland (FBS) agencies are on track to distribute 2,204,111! What has been fueling the 2018 food distribution? Meat and produce distribution! In 2017, FBS received 2,615,665 pounds of food. In 2018, FBS has received 1,232,046 pounds of food. This means FBS is on track to receive at least 2,112,078 pounds of food in The Food Bank staff believes we will gain more produce this fall for your agency to select from.

10 Past, Present, Future: Sources of Food FY 2016
42% of food in the Food Bank warehouse came from Local Donations, including retail outlets (down 8%). 23% of the food in the warehouse came from Purchased Product (down 4%). 34% of the warehouse food came from the USDA/TEFAP program (up 17%). 2% of the warehouse food came from the Feeding America Network (down 4%).

11 Past, Present, Future: Categories of Food in FY 2016
What categories of food did the Food Bank distribute the most of? Meat accounted for 18% of food distributed. Fresh Produce accounted for 11% of the food distributed. Fruits (Canned/Frozen) accounted for 10% of the food distributed. Vegetables (Canned/Frozen) accounted for 9% of the food distributed.

15 What Stats does the Food Bank need?
Online Stats What Stats does the Food Bank need? Please report the following stats if your agency is a pantry site: households, individuals (pantry), children served and the percentage of clients under the given income line. The online system asks for the average number of people in a household. The Food Bank does not track this number for pantries nor does it track it for meal providers.

16 Online Stats If you make a mistake while entering statistics, please let a member of the Food Bank staff know (by either ing or calling into the office). We can help you! Be careful while entering statistics, as hitting enter can accidently submit your numbers served report. Please remember to enter these numbers on a monthly basis now, instead of quarterly.

17 New Time To Enter Your Orders
Warehouse Shop Talk New Time To Enter Your Orders Starting at the end of day, Friday, August 31, 2018, the Food Bank Staff will ask you to have your agency’s orders in by 12 p.m. instead of 4 p.m. This will give the Food Bank Staff time to get the orders prepared to pull. It also will help staff better manage our time, and be ready to handle more pounds for your agency.

Warehouse Shop Talk New Time To Enter Your Orders Examples: You want an order on Tuesday. Please have your order in by 12 p.m. (noon) on Friday. If you want your order on Wednesday, have your order in by Monday at 12 p.m. (noon). Questions? Concerns? Comments?

Warehouse Shop Talk The New Cooler and You! The Food Bank staff is ramping up the amount of produce. This produce is available to have during a pick up or a delivery. If you want produce during your pick up at the Food Bank, please receive guidance from a member of the Food Bank staff. We could have produce ready for your agency, if you ask for it in the “Comments” section during order checkout. Questions? Concerns? Comments?

20 Areas the Food Bank can Improve In
In the last Agency Survey, the Food Bank seemed to be doing well in many areas. The Food Bank can improve in providing a good selection & variety of products for ordering and at providing quality produce. What do you think the Food Bank can do to improve in these areas? What produce would you like to see? What products would you like the Food Bank menu to have or have more of?

56 agencies took the survey. Of these 56, 43 receive 50% or more of their food from the Food Bank of Siouxland. What would cause your agency to order more product from the Food Bank? Where else does your agency get food? If your agency received free delivery, would you order more food?
