1 The Province of Lecce The province of Lecce is square kilometres large, the 14% of the territory of Apulia There’s a fantastic coastal strip long 222 kilometres long, where there’s nice sand, clean water and a little presence of cliffs.

2 Lecce Public garden Visiting the city of Lecce, it could be good having a break in a quite place. In the public garden, there are a variety of threes and comfortable benches, where you can sit down. All converges in a center with a monument with a dome and capitels.

3 Amphitheater The Roman amphitheater is one of the most expressive monument in Lecce, symbol the ancient architecture of the Romans. It was finally built between I and II century A.D.

4 Saint Assunta cathedral
It is the main religion place of the city. Its construction started in 1144 and finished in 1670, when the cathedral was consacrated by bishop Pappacoda.

5 TORRE DELL’ORSO Torre dell’orso is a bathing resort placed in Salento, in the territory of Lecce. It’s known for its really thin silver sand and clear waters thanks to the flow of the Otranto strait.

6 MONUMENTS AND PLACES TO VISIT
The guarding tower The Saint Angels’ chapel It was built in 1568 and it’s placed on a high cliff in front of the coast. This church is placed in Salvo D’acquisto square and it’s been inaugurated in 1960.

7 The two sisters Torre dell’orso beach
They are two really small islands reachable also by swimming because the waters aren’t deep. It’s the most popular beach of the whole resort, but even though it’s really crowded, it’s clean and the water is beautifully clear.

8 PORTO CESAREO It is today among the most famous summer resorts of Salento. What characterizes Porto Cesareo is a beautiful beach that continues uninterruptedly for 17 kilometers and in front of the town beach an archipelago of little islands rises from the sea, that is often reflected by calm, crystal clear and unpolluted waters.

9 The charm of Porto Cesareo is amplified through its crystal clear waters and long beaches of natural sand dunes covered in Mediterranean spots. The coastal area is full of hotels and accommodation, with large parking lots to accommodate the cars of thousands of tourists who every year flock to its beaches. Nevertheless, there are some areas of free beach.

10 A bit of history..... Porto Cesareo has ancient origins and was already known in the Pre-Roman time as Portus Sasinae, that was founded by the inhabitants of Saseno, which are small islands near Vlora, Albania. In the early twentieth century the agricultural hinterland and the surrounding area (called Arneo) was entirely reclaimed, beginning to be relevant not only as a small port but also as a seaside resort. In recent decades its importance has grown remarkably with the fish market and especially because it’s a holiday resort that now has over 17 km of thin sand beaches and a protected marine area.

11 Samsara Beach It is the beach that revolutionized the idea of Beach Party. It’s a wonderful place: the sea is great ; the sand is hot and the sun is brilliant. It is perfect for summer «movida».

12 Acqua splash Here there are lots of attractions for children and young people in general. They can have fun safely and cheaply.

13 History of Otranto In 1480 the city of Otranto was attacked by Ottoman empire from the Turh bay, where they started the attack, subsequently the opposition took place in the castle of the city. After the victory of the enemies, the city was held just for one year and immedialtely reconquered by its inhabitants.

Castro is located on the east coast of the Salento peninsula. On the coast there are lots of famous and beautiful caves where you can see all the shades of sea water.
