1 Performer Improvement Targets
Unit 27 Task 3 Performer Improvement Targets

2 Introduction This task builds on your Task 2 work.
You need to test your four identified weaknesses. The testing process should use standardised or bespoke tests. From this testing your results will identify two priority areas for improvement. Your eight week training plan will focus on these two priority areas only.

8 Improvement Target 1 (P6)
Priority Excellence Trait Reaction timing Baseline Test Result 76mm Specific Target 70mm bellow Measurable Yes we will do the test again after every 4 weeks Agreed Upon After telling Dan about these targets he agreed this would be needed to be more competitive in martial arts, he also agreed that the target would be reachable he liked that I picked this one as reaction timing is a massive part of martial arts as you need to be able to react to the changing fight dynamic Realistic The time scale is realistic as I will be able to use drills that will constantly affect his reaction timing and so I can make a larger lesson train his reaction timing with out it appearing like it is, this makes the training sup conscious as he will not be training it in a way that requires thought, like stretching to increase flexibility, you know you are training it Time Based Baseline test (WB 12/01): Review (WB 09/02): Complete (WB 09/03):

9 Improvement Target 1 – Justification (M3)
Why is this target needed? What will be the performance benefit to the performer (e.g. team selection, injury prevention and representative honours)? What will be the performance benefit to the performers team(s) (e.g. unit, attack, defence and whole team benefits)?

10 Student Justification 1
Reaction timing is a needed target as it is the time it takes for your eyes to see something happen and your body to do a acceptable response. In martial arts you need to be able to see attacks or opening the moment they appear or you will miss the opening or get hit most of the best fighters in the world have fantastic reaction timing and are able to react to incredible fast attacks and so to be at their level you need to get better reaction timing in order to even stand a chance against them, so for the performer having a good reaction time is vital to make them good at martial arts fighting and making them a contender for the best, it will also help the team as if they are training with someone with a good reaction time then they will be getting hit by that person often and so they will have to improve to defend and fight him properly which will increase that persons reso the whole team will benefit as they will all need to improve to stand a chance of fighting and winning this

11 Improvement Target 2 (P6)
Priority Excellence Trait Flexibility Baseline Test Result -3cm Specific Target +5cm Measurable I will be able to do a sit and reach test with Dan every two weeks and more often if I need to as its easy to do Agreed Upon We both agreed that this target is needed in martial arts as he needs to be able to put out decent level kicks to be more successful in martial arts fighting Realistic This is a realistic target cause I can do a deep stretching session after each of my training sessions Time Based Baseline test (WB 12/01): Review (WB 09/02): Complete (WB 09/03):

12 Improvement Target 2 – Justification (M3)
Why is this target needed? What will be the performance benefit to the performer (e.g. team selection, injury prevention and representative honours)? What will be the performance benefit to the performers team(s) (e.g. unit, attack, defence and whole team benefits)?

13 Student Justification 2
Flexibility is important in martial arts as you need good flexibility in your entire body to do all of the techniques in martial arts and so with that in mind having good flexibility will allow you to kick higher and extend your whole body more to get more reach this would be a benefit to Dan as he will be able to kick higher and so score more points and win more, the whole team would be affected because Dan setting the example will get to others to stretch more as they will want to be able to kick higher because there egos will kick in and they will want to try and beat his ability this means that due to the fact that Dan has simply stretched more which has allowed him to kick at maximum reach with maximum and maximum power the whole team will gain from it
