We took 107 players to camp and not even half are cleared to participate the 1st practice. Paper work and fines were due today to ensure you would be good to go the 1st day. Mrs. Parret is in the office until 3:00. She cannot guarantee that you will be clear to practice by 3:00 on Wednesday if you wait until the last day. There are only 14 days practices until game 1 you need to have 12 days of practice, not 12 practices, a 2-a-day only counts as one day.

UPDATES AMAZING and BUSY Summer.
Successful Camps, weight training with good numbers Lots of success to build on this summer Freshmen and Sophomores did an awesome job in the weight room. We have a great young group, and the older guys have done a good job showing how we do things.

Review Calendar, 1st day, print off from the website
Review Calendar, there may be some changes for the weight room and the board time. I will let the kids know when they need to come earlier than normal. There are also changes for the 1st two weeks. Will have impact Testing Thursday and Friday. 12:30 Upper Classmen and 9 for freshmen (this is in place of practice for freshmen).

CONTRACT CHANGES SEASON ATTENDANCE POLICIY: YOU WILL COMMIT FULLY OR NOT AT ALL!!! PLAYERS MUST BE AT PRATICE!!! If a player misses the day after they play in a JV or Freshmen game, they will sit a half of their JV or Freshmen game. If a Varsity Player misses either of these days they will sit a quarter a day of their Varsity Game. It is not guaranteed that they will get in the game when their quarter or half is over. Players may also lose their spots on Special Forces, Offense, or Defense. As coaches we understand that life happens, but we are going to try our best to abide by this policy regardless. If players are injured they are required to suit down in jerseys, Short/sweats, cleats, and helmets(unless they are concussed). They are required to go with their position groups. School Tests are to be made up before school, lunch time, Blazer Time, or between 2:00-2:45. We never had a full unit together the last 2 years. It is absolutely crucial that we make practice.
9
GEAR ISSUE IF PLAYER HAS NOT GOTTEN THEIR GEAR THEY WILL GET IT AFTER after practice Friday(if paperwork is in) JUST A NOTE ON HELMETS EVERY COACH ON THE FIELD HAS A HELMET PUMP. IF YOU NEED AIR IN OR OUT JUST SEE YOUR POSITION COACH, or WHICHEVER COACH IS CLOSEST.

3 main rules Don’t let your TEAMMATES down, Don’t embarrass your family and Don’t embarrass yourself

THURSDAY NIGHT TEAM MEALS
LORI and Thursday Night Dinners Pregame meals are for only

BLAZER CARDS (YIPPY!!!) First Fundraiser-Pre sale for discount card starts August 23rd, Blitz night is Thursday the 29th FROM 5:30 - 9 BLAZER OLYMPICS and UNITY DAY are Saturday the 31st If you are willing to drive kids that would be great. Each player has got to sell 20 cards. However, the player will only be given 10 to start with. We need to pay for: new camera, end zone camera and scouting software upgrade, weight room equipment and new helmets and shoulder pads each year. EACH PLAYER HAS TO SELL 20 CARDS!!! Every player who sells 20 gets and ax sticker for every 25 they sell and they will get a TLINE game day under pads shirt, (already ordered). For players that do not sell 20 they are on field clean up crew until October. I know fundraising is not the fun thing to do but it is important for the success of our program. Our goal is to sell 1300 cards. Last year the card sale was not very smooth. We need to work really hard this year. We were able to do a lot of things with fundraiser money last season. Blitz will go from 5: Kids will get dinner
16
CONTINUED Every door needs to be knocked on.
2 or 3 uses would make the card paid for and then everything else would be saving money. There are some really good buy one get one’s on the card. It is also a different card this year. It is a trifold that you can actually see. Seniors that sell 30 will get their jersey. Everyone else will get under shirts for game nights. Everyone that sells 25 or over also go into a drawing for a big prize TBA. Players will have 1 minute of planks or knuckles for every card not sold until after the BLITZ.
17
CONTINUED Seniors that sell 30 get their Game Greens. However they only start with 20 and will get more once those are gone. ALL CARDS ARE DUE BLITZ NIGHT!!! Some players are motivated in different ways to raise money for the program, and I have to use both the award method and the consequence method. REMEMBER EVERYTHING WE RAISE HAS A DIRECT EFFECT ON ALL GRADE LEVELS. It does not just benefit the Varsity. Seniors are selling to keep their jerseys and the endzone camera and video upgrades selling for the camera and more weight room equipment. Winning TEAM gets to pick one captain for the 1st two games. The winning team will also get a pizza on UNITY DAY We still need to pay for the new jerseys. ALL CARDS WILL BE DUE TO YOUR COACH ON AUGUST 29th to your TEAM Coach.
18
CONTINUED I am going to have 3 set days to turn in money prior to the BLITZ. You will hand in your money and your cards to your TEAM Coaches, at your designated table. Money will not be handed in at any other time. Players are also going to have to initial their coaches record forms every time money is turned in and cards are received. You will have one coach that takes your money and one that takes your cards. You must give to your designated coach!!! WE CANNOT JUST HAVE 20 KIDS STANDING OUTSIDE SAFEWAY. I take Fundraising very seriously. I work hard at it so expect the kids too as well. PRACTICE ON THE 29th WILL BE FROM 2-4:30 and then we will blitz. THIS IS A CHANGE ON THE CALENDAR!!!
19
FAN GEAR and BOOSTER CLUB
All online Store is still open for fan wear ONLY 4 DAYS LEFT The Boosters have been amazing with helping us with Everything.. Please join the Boosters; I think it is like $50 to be a lifetime member. One thing that we are going to ask again this year is that if you are a player that needs some financial assistance, instead of being the chain gang for freshmen football or JV, you are going to work in the concession stands for volleyball, basketball, or wrestling.
20
BUSES There will be no return buses for any games played in Thurston County. This is district wide due to budget cuts. Freshmen will have return buses We bus to all games including home games. JV/Varsity Parents will be in charge of transportation from South Sound
21
PRACTICE We practice for roughly 3 hours a day. We start on Time, when players are late everyone suffers. We are broken up into two color TEAMS GREEN is the Upperclassmen and the GOLD is the Freshmen with some sophomores that may be JV mostly, but will still suit on Friday Nights. Just because you start on a certain team doesn’t mean you can’t be moved to or from a TEAM. Tuesday is a lift day and Study Day for the Gold TEAM. If a Green player that plays JV on Monday misses practice Tuesday they will lose their spot on Special Forces or as the back up at a certain position. This will start after the first JV and 9th Grades Games
22
CONTINUED M-Wed 3-6, Thursday 2:30-4:00, Freshmen pregame and varsity game. Thursdays will also be our awards for the week, this will include all classes. Freshmen are required to be at 3 home games in their jerseys all sitting together. North Thurston, Senior Night, and Homecoming. The freshmen coaches will also select two players of the week to suit up for the varsity game.
23
CONTINUED Monday is pre game and Lifting for all players not playing.
Study Hall for everyone on Tuesday at 2. Study Hall for all freshmen and upper class with a grade lower then a C. Early release, same rules. Thursday pregame for the upperclassmen and practice for the freshmen. It is also our awards and stickers day. Friday GAME NIGHT. Saturday BLAZER BUDDIES, Green may have early Saturday Video. Sunday OFF
24
CONTINUED Players will be responsible for watching our game video and watching upcoming opponents on their own time. Players need to get their and cell numbers to Coach Cole the 1st day of practice. We are a split staff, meaning that all coaches only coach one side of the ball. This helps us as a program, because players are getting coached up by all the same coaches and get a chance to know everyone. When we are OLD Defense and YOUNG Offense it just means that Older guys are with D coaches and Young guys are with the Offense coaches.
25
CONTINUED One of the reasons that we went to the two group model is so it takes away from kids standing around in practice. We want to give everyone as many reps as possible.
26
INJURED PLAYERS If your player is injured, the attendance policy still stands. They must be at practice after they get their treatment. They also must be with their position coach getting mental reps. Players are required to wear their practice cloth and helmets when injured. Unless they have a concussion. If they do not following through with this, they forfeit the opportunity to play on Friday. If a player has a concussion, he will need to get doctor clearance before he can return to contact. As well as work with the trainer for the progression to play trainings.
27
WEEKLY DRESS ALL Players will all wear shirts and ties on day before Varsity games. Every player in the TLINE program will wear their game jerseys on the day the varsity plays. Freshmen will just wear their opposite, so if they are home on Monday then they wear their WHITE on Friday. Freshmen will wear their game jerseys on Mondays as well.
28
Game DRESS It is extremely important to us that we all look the same for games. We wear White sleeves only with our white jerseys, and this year we can wear black with black but no black with white. Gloves-Black, green, white, Vegas Cleats-black or white base, just no random colors. We are GREEN and GOLD Socks-We have game socks for every week. I always tell the kids which ones we wear the night before. In October we will wear pink socks for all games.
29
STUDY HALL REMEMBER Study halls are Tuesday and Wednesday starting the 1st full week of school. Every player is to be in their assigned area during study hall unless cleared with the coach in your room. Players that are in no danger will be in the weight room on Wednesdays. Study hall rooms will be in Rooms 125 and 127. Early Release days-All Freshmen will stay for study hall, if any upper classman has less then a C, they also have to stay. Please make sure to remind your student athlete that with Blazer Time and Study Hall there is no reason to be missing work or tests
30
IF ISSUES ARISE WE have worked really hard to make this a respected program in the league, school, and community. If you have an issue with me please give me one day to set an appointment. I really do not like to discuss your tough issues on because the message gets lost and you cannot see expressions. Misery loves company, if you have an issue with me, I would really appreciate it if you deal directly with me, know that whatever the issue it will never affect your player. There are still 3 things that I will not discuss because they are coaching decisions Playing time Play Calling Other players
31
AXE STICKERS Stickers will be given out after the 1st practice.
Freshmen averaged 7 per player Upper classmen averaged 12. Stickers go towards a letter. You must get 20 to letter.
32
Parent Meetings We will still try and meet the last Wednesday of the Month at 7 in my room. Probably will not meet this month. We were going to test on Monday, but I am closing it down, so paper work can get in.
33
Coffee/First Fan Wear Order
Coffee that was missing is in my room. Players please get the coffee to the staff that has ordered some. The 1st fan wear order is ready to be picked up.
34
Freshmen We have got 10 games scheduled this year.
With the amount of players we have we need to get very creative with how we get as many reps as possible. My coaches and I are working on two possible situations. WE will make our final decision next week.
35
