User ID is input by scanning an ID barcode, then the item barcode is scanned followed by the quantity required.
Some time later this data is automatically downloaded into a PC, where the Alca Barcode software resides, by placing the portable terminal into an attached cradle. The software then reads the user ID and adds the user name, and department if required. The scanner’s clock then provides the time and date with the item codes and quantities from the portable terminal’s memory.
