2. Overview Key Stage Two Musical Chant Composition Competition.
Theme is to Create new chants and to develop musical ideas.
A partnership between Huddersfield Town Foundation and Musica Kirklees.
Musica Kirklees staff will work with existing Whole Class Ensemble Tuition pupils to create new football chants as a method of composition. The aim is to develop ideas with support from professional educators and to engage children in creative composition whilst supporting their local football team. Schools may also extend the competition to any class in KS2
The planning and resources will be provided by Musica Kirklees staff. The entries must be submitted by the 28th February 2018.
Chants can be up to 50 words long
Chants can be rapped (non pitched) or sung to an existing or new melody

3. Competition for Pupils at Kirklees Schools
One winner from each class will be put forward for the Kirklees-wide competition – this should be decided by the class with guidance from staff
One overall winner in each year group (years 3 – 6) for all of Kirklees
One overall winner from all entries. .

All pupils taking part will receive a Big Chant certificate.

4. The Big Chant! The year group winning composers will receive:
A school visit from Captain Booth and the Championship Trophy
Photo and winning chant on club website and printed on matchday clappers.
Overall Winner
A school visit from a First Team player.
A photo opportunity for the winner with the player which will feature in the matchday programme and Club website.
A football signed by the Huddersfield Town First Team for the school
The chant will also be printed onto the matchday clappers and lyrics put up on the Stadium big screen to encourage fans to use the new chant.

Spring Musica Kirklees staff will deliver two/three lessons as part of your Whole Class Ensemble Tuition.
Any KS2 class from schools in Kirklees can enter the competition
