3. Using your knowledge of your personal experience within the teenage social paradigm, answer the following question:
The precipitating factor in the 2017 Battle of the Front Porch was Dad’s doctrinal mandate that Junior return from his/her nighttime operations by 2200 (10:00). Because this time-honored request is legitimate the fault of the battle lie not with the mandate, but rather with Junior’s obstinacy and insubordination.
Validate or refute this statement.

However, Junior and his/her friends (A)were given inadequate directions with which to pursue their goal, which cost valuable entertainment time; (B) upon the return trip the vehicle in which Junior and his/her squad were passengers had a flat tire; (C) and after the tire was changed the vehicle ran out of gas because the vehicle’s owner was too damned cheap to fill it up. Therefore, while the mandate was legitimate, the fault for its violation were due to factors beyond Junior’s control, (Y) consequently the fault for the battle was a lack of understanding from dad, and not by any intentional insubordination on Junior’s part.

9. X: Some historians have claimed that Britain’s actions prior to the American Revolution were consistent with an imperial mother country and were not responsible for the outbreak of hostilities. However, due to (A) British insensitivity to colonial opposition to imperial taxation, (B) their rejection of the colonists’ offers of compromise, and (C) misunderstanding of the effects of Salutary Neglect, British actions actually inflamed a situation which could have otherwise been controlled. Therefore, (Y) the arrogance and insensitivity of British pre-war actions were the primary causes of the American Revolutionary War.

HOWEVER, (A) the increased participation in the previously-male domain of physical work on the farm; (B) the allowance of moral vices such as tobacco and alcohol, and (C) the involvement in reform movements indicate that women’s lives were drastically affected by westward expansion. THEREFORE (Y) westward expansion had a major impact on stretching the boundaries of the Republican Mother, even to the extent of increasing social acceptance of equality.
