2 What are the Kidneys? There are 2 kidneys one on either side of the spine The kidneys are just below the ribs The kidneys are shaped like kidney beans Each kidney is about the size of your clenched fist

High Blood Pressure NOT THE ONLY CAUSES.. EVERYONE SHOULD GET THEIR KIDNEYS CHECKED Diabetes/High Blood Sugar

15 Other causes of CKD Heart Disease Family History of Kidney Disease Known Kidney Disorders or Disease Urinary Tract Disorders Auto immune Disease (for example: Lupus) But.. everyone should get checked every year during their yearly check up. Check difference make changes

Visit your doctor for regular yearly check ups. Know if you have a family history of kidney disease. If someone in your family had/has kidney disease, you are at risk of kidney disease as well. Take medications as prescribed. Also ensure your doctor is aware of any over-the-counter medications you take regularly. Eat healthy, balanced meals. Limit alcohol. Talk about NSAIDS

24 Keeping Kidneys Healthy
Maintain a healthy blood pressure. Talk to your doctor about what a healthy blood pressure is for you. Manage your diabetes. High blood sugar damages kidneys. Be active. Physical activity can anything from playing with your kids/grandkids to regularly taking walks. Every bit of physical activity helps. Aim for a healthy body weight. Stop smoking.
