WHY 13th YEAR?? What is it? How can this help me?
A scholarship option unique to ONLY Charter high school graduates This scholarship will apply to tuition, technology, lab and student fee costs at GTC Note: Book costs are not included in this scholarship How can this help me? Maximize all Financial Aid options to avoid excessive loan amounts Finish the associate’s degree you started as a charter student Take classes locally to save money later

-Utilize your GTC person(s) of contact -Complete all college paperwork in black or blue ink -Print legibly -Triple check social security number & birthdate -Sign and date all forms, as required

PASS Sessions Completion of the online orientation and a Planning and Advising for Student Success (PASS) session is required before new students can register for classes. During your PASS session, you will meet with an advisor and/or program faculty to discuss a plan for your academic goals *Students cannot register for classes without completing orientation and attending PASS.

FAFSA FIRST! In order to qualify for the 13th Year Scholarship or SC Lottery Tuition Assistance, you must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) The first “F” in FAFSA is FREE Never trust a site that asks you to pay!

13th Year Scholarship *ALL Charter graduates attending GTC must complete the 13th Year Scholarship form (included in your packet) (see next slide for example)

LIFE Scholarship *If you are awarded LIFE Scholarship, you must sign and return the LIFE affidavit that is mailed to you by the GTC Financial Aid department. (see next slide for example)

Get a jumpstart on completing the 2016-2017 FAFSA!
FAFSA FRIDAYS! Get a jumpstart on completing the FAFSA! The Financial Aid Office will be sponsoring free FAFSA workshops called FAFSA Fridays. Financial aid officers will be available in the ARC computer lab to assist students in completing their FAFSA every Friday, February 12th – April 29th, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. (excluding March 25). Sessions will be held at branch campuses, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. as follows: Brashier Campus April 8 Greer Campus March 18, April 15 Northwest Campus April 1, April 22 Please bring the 2015 federal tax returns (if filed) and W2s for the following persons depending on your status: Independent Students – student and spouse, if married Dependent Students – student and parents

If you already have a file, go get your “accommodation form” the 1st week of classes Call or Sharon Bellwood at or drop by the office located on the Barton Campus in the Student Center Building: SC/105 Room 113. Walk in times are Monday from 2:00-4:30 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Office hours are 9:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Friday 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Intakes available at all campuses and locations.
