2 Cycles Put yourself into Cycles Render to create the tree

3 User Preferences Find User Preferences
File > User Preferences Use the search bar in the top left corner Search for Add Curve: Sapling Click the checkmark Save User Settings

4 How to spawn the Sapling in
Create an empty scene Delete Camera, Light Source, Basic Cube Shift + A > Curves > Add Tree

5 Making the tree 3D Click Bevel in the bottom lefthand corner
Tree outline will be filled

6 Creating extra limbs and cuts
Click the settings dropbox Go to Branch Splitting Mess around with these settings however you would like I recommend these:

7 More Complex Tree If you want to make your tree(s) more complex
Click the settings dropbox > Branch Growth I did not use these They can make your tree(s) look better

8 Leaves on the Tree Branches
To get leaves on your tree click the settings dropbox Click Dropbox > Click Leaves setting > Click show leaves Use Rectangular Leaves for your tree(s)

9 Creating Bark Right Click on the bark of your tree and go to the materials tab Click on “New Material” Go into the node editor

10 Node Editor (Bark) I used these settings to make the bark look good:

11 Node Editor (Leaves) Most complex part of creating a tree
Find a .png image Most complex part of creating a tree You need to find an image with the leaf looking like this: So big, had to put on next slide:
