Formal check Request for additional information Definition of ownership according to University Invention Act and information provided HIS has to send notification within 2 months from the date the invention disclosure has been accepted Tutkimuksen toimiala

18 Notification within 2 months
Proof of right to invention Open research: confirms ownership Contract research: definition of ownership  If university has the rights, commercial potential of the case will be evaluated  If the rights belong to a third party, university confirms its ownership and transfers the rights to the owner Tutkimuksen toimiala

19 If... ..HIS doesn’t send notification within 2 months
 rights will be transferred to the researcher regardless of research funding mentioned ..researcher is not utilising or publishing results arising from open research within 6 months, university can ask for the rights to the invention Tutkimuksen toimiala
