Macbeth Revision of Act 4 Date:
Objectives Revise Act 4 before moving on to Act 4 Make sure everyone is following the story. Mark quotes (needed for 60% of any answer you give in PQE) All of this should be on a sheet which can be used for revision purposes later so don’t write on the sheet. Warm-up: Raise your hand and share a thought about Act 4 of Macbeth. What do you think about it?

Raise hands to share and discuss quotes; where they are and what you think they mean. Prophecy. Examine the three apparitions and what they say. Which is the most important prophecy in your opinion? Explain your choice (S1) Macbeth becomes more impulsive at the end of scene one. Find evidence to prove this is correct. State of affairs. Ross describes Scotland as a ‘wild and violent sea’. Examine what he says in scene two and explain what is wrong in Scotland. (S2) Honour. Is Macduff a good man? Base your response on his conversation with Malcolm in scene three.(S3)

How do the witches, their apparitions and visions affect Macbeth? Who is to blame for the events of the play: the witches or the people? Explain your choice.
