2 Injector - Linac Status & Schedule
2006 Installation Status (C. Rago) Injector & Linac 2007 Schedule 2007 Installations 2007 Engineering Effort

3 FAC Report April 2006 Installation priorities are based on the hardware required for installation within the linac tunnel during the current shutdown. Installation of components outside the linac tunnel may be accomplished after the shutdown, with minimal impact on operations. While the prioritization introduces some delay in readiness of the injector, the overall philosophy followed by LCLS appears to be sound. Delayed design and fabrication of some Injector components to accelerate Linac device design and fabrication. The FAC encourages the LCLS management to provide sufficient resources to avoid compromising injector readiness for commissioning, e.g. installation of LCW in the injector region is not yet fully planned and there is potential for problems that may be encountered causing delays. Also, the photocathode laser installation schedule is tight and attention should be given to its readiness with at least the minimal required laser systems performance for initial gun tests with beam. Injector/Linac managed to secure short term design and engineering support from outside contracts and SLAC matrixed manpower.
