Introduction The Cochran Lifeguard CPU Dive Computers transmits a signal to the Lifeguard D1 and Lifeguard D3 to display dive data. When used with the Hytech Diving Communicator the Lifeguard D1 is used by the diver to see the dive data and the Lifeguard D3 is used to see this same data remotely at the surface. The Lifeguard D3 receives this signal using the Audio Communication Line. A Lifeguard Pickup is placed near the Lifeguard CPU Module and is inserted between the Communication Line and the diver’s mask to transmit this signal. A Lifeguard Banana Plug Adaptor is inserted between the Hytech Diving Communicator and the Audio Communication Line. The Lifeguard D3 is connected to this adaptor to receive the signal from the Lifeguard CPU Module. The Pickup is passive and requires no batteries. IMPORTANT: Always keep the Pickup terminated. This means it should be connected in a system or the two connectors on the Pickup should be connected to each other.

Lifeguard D3 Connection
The Communication Line is disconnected from the Diving Communicator and the Lifeguard Banana Plug Adaptor is inserted into the Diver 1 or Diver 2 connectors. The Communication Line is then inserted into the Lifeguard Banana Plug Adaptor. One end of the Lifeguard D3 Connector Cable is plugged into the Lifeguard Banana Plug Adaptor. The opposite end is plugged into the connector on the Lifeguard D3.

Lifeguard Pickup Install
Disconnect the Communication Line from the diver’s mask. Insert the connector from the Lifeguard Pickup with the Yellow band into the connector for the Communication Line. Insert the opposite end with the Blue band into the connector for the diver’s mask. The barrel portion of the Lifeguard Pickup will need to be close to the Lifeguard CPU unit to pick up the signal. A Velcro strap can be used to attach the Lifeguard Pickup. The Pickup is passive and requires no batteries. IMPORTANT: Always keep the Pickup terminated. This means it should be connected in a system or the two connectors on the Pickup should be connected to each other.
