24. In the latter part of 2013 and following a tender process the Isle of Wight Council appointed consultants to:
Provide technical advice on what caused the landslide
Advice whether other nearby locations were at risk
Provide options for repair
Provide guidance on costings and Partnership Funding

29. Isle of Wight Council received a petition with over 4,000 signatures asking for the path to be reinstated.
IWC Executive considered a report which considered
Do Nothing
Mend and Make Do
Proceed with major scheme
Gave approval to the Mend and Make Do option, and following a tender process an island contractor commenced work.
