2 About Illustrations: story must be written first
“Draw pictures yourself, or you can locate appropriate images online or in magazines. Be sure that the illustrations capture the key parts of your myth and that they add a visual layer to your story.” You will have to print at home.

6 Writing your rough draft
Below each plot element, type your paragraphs. From “Demeter and Persephone” Exposition: “Demeter, goddess of the harvest, spent much of her time on earth, happily tending its fields and plants. She was often accompanied by her beloved daughter Persephone who was as pretty as a rosebud and as gentle as a violet.”

Example continued: From “Demeter and Persephone” Inciting Incident: One day, while visiting earth with her mother, Persephone wandered off to pick some flowers. As she bent down to pick a blossom that she found particularly beautiful, the ground began to rumble beneath her feet. Suddenly, the earth split open and out flew a chariot pulled by snorting black horses and driven by Hades, god of the underworld and ruler of the dead.
