Motivation Need for analytical methods to improve coordination among the modal transportation agencies of the Commonwealth of Virginia Federal legislation that requires states to consider alternate transportation modes Need for use of objective criteria in planning and prioritizing projects Objectives Review the relevant literature and the experience of federal agencies, other states, and other countries Define requirements for participation of the various state transportation agencies Specify analytical methods and data needs that support multimodal systems integration Perform case studies and transfer the developed methodology to the VTrans2025 committee EC – Economic Competitiveness IM – Intermodalism and Mobility SM – System Management FR – Fiscal Responsibility QL – Quality of Life SS – Safety and Security Aviation Case Study Port Case Study Public Transit Case Study Rail Case Study
