3 Objectives Observe cork with the unaided eye, hand lens, and microscopes. Describe and draw collections of cells.

4 Examine pieces of cork and record your observations.
Purpose Examine pieces of cork and record your observations. Summarize your research in three to five points.

5 Procedure Observe (Unaided Eye)
Look at the cork with just your eyes not using anything to magnify it. (1 hand lens) Magnify the cork. Observe (2 hand lens) Magnify the cork even more. * Look at example in book (pg. 151)

6 Procedure Observe (Microscopes)
Look at the cork through the microscopes (low power and high power). DO NOT MOVE THE MICROSCOPES! They are already set for you to see what you need to see.

7 Record you observations on the chart provided.

8 Complete the questions about the lab.
Write hypothesis before you begin the experiment. This should be your best educated guess based on your research.
