1 Wavelike properties of particle: de Broglie ‘pilot waves’
PHY 361 I’ll present an update of the neutron guide design on behalf of Wolfgang. I have been working closely with him through the whole design and simulation process.

2 Outline de Broglie hypothesis
connection with Bohr’s quantization condition example: calculation of de Broglie wavelength Davisson-Germer experiment neutron diffraction, electron microscope interference of 1-dimensional waves wave function I will start with a brief reminder of where we were last, and explain the different options available for polarizing the beam. Then I will go on and show the progress we have made towards a feasible design of the novel splitter polarizer geometry. We have also done new detailed simulations of the different designs and recalculated the costing of each for comparison. Based on this new information, we have arrived at a choice for the baseline design.
