The chief priests (Sadducees) and Pharisees
5
It never occurred to them to ask whether Jesus was right or wrong, or whether this was the will of God or not. Their only question was: “What effect will this have on my ease and comfort and authority?”

Dinner at Bethany
7
Martha and Mary show us five things about worship:
Martha honored Jesus and brought others into His presence Martha served Jesus & others Mary poured all on Jesus Mary shows humble devotion Mary is ministering to the Lord with abandon
8
“And the house was filled with filled with the fragrance of the perfume.” (vs. 3)
Matthew 26:13 “I tell you the truth, wherever this gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.”
9
Judas Iscariot “Why wasn’t this perfume sold and the money given to the poor?”
10
Judas Iscariot Jesus knew. Jesus still kept him in His close circle.
John 6: Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” (He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.) Jesus still kept him in His close circle.
11
Judas Iscariot Judas had just seen an action of ultimate worship; and he called it an action of extravagant waste. His “glasses” were messed up.
12
The Sadducees were prepared to suppress the truth in order to further their own self-interest.
