3. Opening Prayer All-powerful God, by water and the Holy Spirit
you freed your us from sin
and gave us new life.
Send your Holy Spirit upon us
to be our helper and guide.

4. Opening Prayer Give us the spirit of wisdom and understanding,
the spirit of right judgment and courage,
the spirit of knowledge and reverence.
Fill us with the spirit of wonder and awe in your presence.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

9. When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled,
they were all in one place together
And suddenly there came from the sky
a noise like a strong driving wind,

10. and it filled the entire house in which they were.
Then there appeared to them tongues as of fire,
which parted and came to rest on each one of them.

11. What is a Tongue of Fire?

12. And they were all filled with the holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim.

15. Come, Holy Spirit. Fill the hearts of your faithful And kindle in us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit And we shall be created, And you will renew the face of the earth.
