Literacy
Our book for the next two weeks is “Underwater” and the sight words are “with & not”. Please have your child practice reading and writing their sight words at home.
We will begin our two week adventure in Hawaii! Students will learn all about our 50th state and end with a class luau before Spring Break.
In Reading Workshop, students will continue to learn about beginning consonant blends. We have been practicing the “l blends”:bl, cl, & fl. This week will finish with gl, sl and then start the “r blends”. Students will continue to practice using their reading strategies as they read independently, with a buddy, and in a small group with me.
In Writing Workshop, students will write about their favorite their favorite ocean animal. They will also write and illustrate a book about things that we can find in the ocean.

This week we will begin Module In this module students will solve addition problems and identify combinations that make 10. They will also explore the commutative property. Students will use math tools like cubes and math racks to solve problems to discover that 4+2 is the same as 2+4.
