2 Once Upon a Time… Once upon a time there was a young rat named Rasputin P. Rat.

3 One Dream…. He had a goal to become a secret agent. He applied to Spy school and was given the number 001 ½ . There was only one problem. He passed all of his classes except one. He can’t pass Secret Agent School until he learns how to rendezvous (meet) his informants at a bridge.

4 OUR JOB… Our job is to help him learn those skills so he can become a secret agent.   First we have to make our bridge! Take one piece of notebook paper and fold it into thirds the long way. (enchilada/hot dog style) Fold under a little at both ends to make a bridge. LISTEN FOR DIRECTIONS.

7 Preposition Notes: The symbol for a preposition is a _______.
A preposition is a word that relates its object to some other word in the sentence. (McDougall ,Littell.) The symbol for a preposition is a _______. A word used as a preposition is like many students. It is NEVER BY ITSELF. A word used as a preposition ALWAYS has an OBJECT. The OBJECT of a preposition is ALWAYS A NOUN OR PRONOUN.

8 More about the OBJECT of a preposition.
The OBJECT of a preposition ALWAYS comes AFTER the preposition. The OBJECT of a preposition answers the question “what?” or “whom?” Example: (with a hat) Example: (with Sadie) With WHAT? Hat With WHOM? Sadie Hat is the object Sadie is the object.

9 PREPOSITIONAL PHRASE A prepositional phrase is a GROUP OF WORDS
that STARTS with the preposition ENDS with the OBJECT of the preposition and includes ANY WORDS in BETWEEN. Example: (Down the dark road) (Prepostion, article, adjective, OBJECT/ noun)
