16 Comparison: All Data

17 Anecdotal Outcomes: SPC 1608 Student Comments
1. “That helped me understand a lot more.” 2. “Thank-you, ‘cause I had no idea how to do that when you told us it helped.” 3. “She spoke so well I practiced trying to say the citations like her for my speech.” 4. “Eloquent speakers in the video.”

18 Anecdotal Outcomes: SPC 1017 Student Comments
Most comments positive: Helpful: “…before watching it, I had no idea how to incorporate the verbal citation without making seem forced.” Helpful: “…helped me with the wording of their credentials.” Helpful: “Yes, I found the verbal citation video helpful. I never cited sources in a speech before and so see their examples of how to fit cited sources in worked well for me.” Helpful: “…Also, since it’s my first semester I wasn’t really sure of what exactly needed to be there and what it had to look like. In high school they show how to use citations but in a different way. So this video was a very helpful tip.” Only two negative comments: Not helpful: The verbal citation video was not helpful. I think it wasn’t helpful because when I watched it I was out of it and I couldn’t grasp and remember the concept.” Not helpful: For me it was not because once I began presenting I forgot all about it and citing my sources verbally because I cited them in my PowerPoint.
