A bodily fluid (not just blood) may contain organisms that spread disease – we call these Bloodborne Pathogens. At work the Bloodborne Pathogens we focus on are Hepatitis (HBV) and HIV (virus that causes AIDS).
Avoiding bodily fluids or taking proper precautions (using proper PPE) helps keep us all safe from pathogen exposure. Know our policies on Bloodborne Pathogens and follow all rules every time.
