1. All About Me Project
The first homework project for Room 5 is the All About Me globe. Attached is a booklet with 6 circles to decorate and complete. When finished, simply return the booklet to school. We will do the assembly in class.
This project is important because of the icons or symbols. Each icon denotes a skill that I will be teaching as part of a strategy called Depth and Complexity. Each icon has a meaning:
The Grecian Temple- Main Idea
The Flower- Details
The Glasses- Perspective or Opinion
The Question Mark- Unanswered Questions
The Flowchart- Patterns
Each of these symbols represent critical thinking skills that will be honed throughout your child’s education. Room 5 students will become very familiar with most of these icons during the year.
Please have your child color the circles neatly and vividly. When completing the activities, please have you child write neatly. Typing and cut/paste is great too. Your child may add embellishments if desired.
