Are you thinking of going to college or continuing your education past high school?
This may be the program for you! College – bound curriculum with the possibility of earning articulated College credits while still in high school.

What is College Tech Prep?
A high school and college career partnership linked to business, industry and labor. The hope is to create a seamless pathway from high school to college to careers In AHS, we follow state guidelines to prepare the student with the required background & skills necessary for success in their chosen healthcare career.

What kind of student are you?
Reliable? Caring? Eager to learn new things? Open to new ideas? Flexible? A problem solver? A team player?

How do I get accepted?: Open to all Lorain County students:
Recommended 2.75 GPA or higher. Completed Algebra I with a “B” or better. Completed Biology with a “B” or better. Must have an acceptable attendance record (less than 5 days a semester) Recommended: Passed all OGT’s Have up-to-date immunization status(MMR, Tetanus & Hepatitis) Transportation required in senior year for clinical days.

AHS highlights: 2 year program starting in junior year. ½ day program
Juniors come in the morning 7:50-10:20 Seniors come in the afternoon 11:53 -2:14. Can receive up to 19 articulated college credits upon completing 2 years in the program (after meeting all criteria). Many additions to your resume.

CPR and First Aid Certification:
American Heart Association CPR: 2 yrs. American Red Cross CPR and 1st Aid: 1 yr (CPR) 3 yrs (1st Aid) Mock “Disaster” drill Possible 2 college credits

Medical Terminology internet course (3 credits) Body Structure & Function (Anatomy & Physiology) (3 credits) General Pathology (2 credits) Patient Care (1 credit) Optional STNA (Nurse Assistant) training in the summer. (5 credits) SDEV 101-student development for LCCC (1 credit) Introduction to Medical Assisting

What does “articulation” mean?
To “articulate” means “to join” We are joined with LCCC in the Lorain County Consortium As College Tech Prep students, you are registered with LCCC and receive an ID To receive articulated credits, students must complete the full 2 years in the program. You are not required to attend LCCC.
